COMMUNITY NOTICE: OFFICE/SCHOOL CLOSURE – COVID19
Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, particularly the UK Variant B.1.1.7, Chief and Council have decided to close the Band Administration Building, Health Centre, Jordan’s Principle, Day Care and MAS, effective immediately, for a two week period.
The closures will be reassessed on June 4, 2021.
As a proactive measure and to support provincial public health orders, we will be placing checkpoints at McKay’s Point junction and Highway 272 junction beginning today. The checkpoint security personnel will be taking down names of all persons/vehicles passing through these areas and the names will be forwarded to our health officials. Anyone failing to abide to public health orders can receive a provincial fine.
The Pine Creek Gas Bar will remain open but will only provide window service.
The vaccination clinic will proceed as planned.
Chief and Council will continue to monitor the situation and update the Covid-19 dashboard daily. Although we are not enforcing a community wide lockdown today, we may enforce one at a later date if provincial pubic health orders are not followed and/or there is a spike in Covid-19 cases.
We urge all community members to remain vigilant and continue to adhere to all provincial public health orders. Together, we can stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
